Agnes in 1392, it found itself within the borders of the Czech state, and at the beginning of the fifteenth century it belonged to the robber knights. In the years 1443-1450, the owner of the castle was Jan Puczek, who committed robberies from here. From the mid-fifteenth century to 1535 it was owned by the Czetryc family, then for ten years it was in the hands of the Hochberg family. The castle was purchased from them by Maciej from the von Logau family (from Łagów from the Lubusz Land). Under the reign of this family, the castle was rebuilt into a fortified Renaissance palace. The reconstruction was completed by Maciej's son Jerzy in 1587. In addition to the fortifications, the gatehouse, the foregate with attics and the northern courtyard also come from this period.
During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was damaged. In 1680, the owner of the castle was Jan Eben, then the stronghold was besieged by peasants rebelling against too high court duties. Since then, the castle began to fall into disrepair and the last owners left it in 1774. It was not until half a century later, in 1824, that conservation works began. They were undertaken by the Zeydlitz family, the last owners of the castle. In 1869, the tower burned down after a lightning strike. At the entrance to the upper castle, a Renaissance portal from 1570 with bas-reliefs of 8 virtues and coats of arms of 8 owners has been preserved.
Currently, the castle houses the PTTK Regional Museum and a seasonal tourist station. In the courtyard there is a 600-year-old linden tree - a natural monument. from friendly sources :) I found out that it is almost entirely
