the buildings existing on the site of the former castle, fragments of the walls of the defensive building have been preserved. The castle was built by the bishop of Kuyavia, Matthias of Gołańcza in the fourteenth century. Originally, it had a tower. In the 16th century it was rebuilt, then in the years 1623-1631 expanded by bishop A. Lipski. Then it was surrounded by walls with four corner towers.
