h e Uchan castle was probably erected by Paweł Jasieński of the Gozdawa coat of arms after 1470. Originally, it was a small complex, a residential building with a tower in the north-west corner. After the childless death of the next generation of the Jasieński family, the Uchański estate became the property of the Uchański family of the Radwan coat of arms at the beginning of the 15th century. They expanded the Jasieński castle in 1570, adding a second one to the existing building to the south and surrounding the courtyard with a quadrangle of perimeter walls with three new towers in the corners. The gate was located in the northern curtain of the walls, directly next to the north-eastern tower.
In 1590, Helena Uchańska brought the castle as a dowry to Mikołaj Daniłłowicz of the Sas coat of arms. At the turn of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries,

they rebuilt the castle, then a four-wing complex was created. The entrance was moved slightly to the west, erecting a gatehouse preceded by a long gate neck.
In the second half of the eighteenth century, the Daniłłowicz family left the residence, which by 1786 had been completely destroyed. From the remains of the walls, material was obtained for the construction of a distillery and a brewery, in this way by 1810 the ruins were completely leveled.
In the years 1959-1960, Wiktor Zin, while conducting research in the castle, discovered its foundations from under the layer of earth. |
