i n 1309, the Teutonic Knights erected a brick castle in Tczew on the site of the destroyed stronghold. After these lands became part of the Polish, from 1466 it was the seat of the starost. A hundred years later, it was already abandoned and ruined, which is described in the inspection carried out in 1565. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Prussian authorities ordered the dismantling of the remains of the walls, which completely erased the traces of the building.
There are iconographic records from the first half of the 17th century, but on their basis it is difficult to determine the location and layout of the castle. It was probably connected to the city walls and was located in the area of the Dominican monastery.
