Castle in Stare Tarnowice

rom 1520, Stare Tarnowice was owned by the Włodek family, who shortly after the mid-sixteenth century erected a four-sided castle from stone. The four castle wings were two-storey, and the square courtyard in the middle was surrounded by arcaded cloisters. In the south-eastern corner, a four-sided tower with three storeys was built. The entrance to the castle was on the axis of the west wing.

The Włodek family were the owners of the castle until 1570. In 1724 it belonged to George von Gusnard. During later reconstructions, carried out during the 18th and 19th centuries, the castle lost its original appearance. The cloisters were bricked up, the entrance hall was rebuilt, and the northern wing was enlarged. The castle was surrounded by a vast park.

Currently, after being bought by a private investor
