Castle in Strzmiele

fter the demolition of the first castle called the Wolf's Nest, the Borek family erected the second castle on an artificially built, 5-meter high mound near the newly founded village.

In 1393, the Teutonic Knights demolished this castle in retaliation for Borek's attack on the retinue of the Duke of Gelderland on his way to the Teutonic state.

In the sixteenth century, a new manor house was erected on the mound of the castle, completely leveling the traces of the stronghold. The manor house currently standing in this place has preserved fragments of the sixteenth-century manor. It houses a branch of the State Archives in Szczecin.
