Castle in Rytro

he steep mountain above Poprad hides fragments of stone perimeter walls and a tower, as well as traces of the moat of the royal castle. The first mention of it comes from the mid-thirteenth century, when it was the property of the castellan of Sącz, Piotr Wydżga. Expanded by Casimir the Great in the fourteenth century. It was founded on an irregular plan and had a cylindrical tower. He was to guard the border and the trade route to Hungary, which ran in this place. It was rebuilt again in the fifteenth century. Around the middle of the seventeenth century, it was destroyed.

Archaeological research has been carried out here for several years.
