It was rebuilt several times. The first reconstruction, from the second half of the 16th century, made by the Promnitz family, gave it Renaissance features. Then it was rebuilt in the years 1743-1768, but it was only the reconstruction at the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that gave it its present appearance. At that time, the owners of Pszczyna were the Hochbergs. In the magnificent palace, small fragments of the former castle have remained - cellars and some Baroque and Renaissance rooms.
Currently, it houses the State Museum in Pszczyna.
