Castle in Laskowice

he castle in Laskowice was erected in the mid-sixteenth century by Johann von Prittwitz, to whose family the village belonged in the fourteenth century. At the beginning of the seventeenth century, as a dowry, it became the property of the von Saurma-Jeltsch family, who had their main seat in the castle in nearby Jelcz. In 1650, the family left the destroyed castle in Jelcz and moved to Laskowice.

In 1779, Baron Johann Franz von Saurma-Jeltsch rebuilt the Laskowicki castle into a magnificent palace. Until 1813, it remained the family seat. In the nineteenth century, it was rebuilt several times, and after World War II it was adapted for the use of an agricultural facility of the National Academy of Sciences. During this reconstruction, the historic appearance of the palace was significantly reduced. Currently, it is used by the Registry Office.
