here used to be a royal castle on the Liswarta River, only earth bastion fortifications remained. It was built by Casimir the Great in the fourteenth century. It is Gothic, with a round tower. For a short time, it was in the hands of Archduke Maximilian in 1587. During the Swedish Deluge, it was destroyed in the years 1655-1656.
During the reconstruction in the years 1657-1671 by the starost J. Michałowski, it was fortified with earth ramparts with bastions. During the reign of the Saxons,

it fell into ruin, and was demolished by the Prussian authorities in the nineteenth century.
