he castle in Krajenka was probably erected at the beginning of the fifteenth century by the voivode of Kalisz, Andrzej Danaborski. The castle probably had a regular plan, it was surrounded by steep slopes and a moat was dug from the town side. The preserved residential house was originally located in the western part of the courtyard. The house had dimensions of 9 x 23.7 meters, and in the ground floor it was probably divided into three rooms. From the west, an octagonal tower adjoined it. It is possible that the entrance gate was defended by a gatehouse.
The village belonged to the Danaborski family until the end of the 15th century, then it was taken over by the Kościelecki family, who expanded the castle complex during the 16th century, giving it Renaissance features. Certainly, during one

of these reconstructions, the tower was extended at the end of the 16th century. After the Kościelecki family, the castle belonged to the Grudziński family, and then to the Działyński family. During the Swedish Deluge, the castle did not resist the destruction, from which it did not rise in its former form.
In 1774, the still preserved western residential house was rebuilt into a church by Anna Sułkowska. During this reconstruction, all interior divisions were removed, the tower was adapted for a belfry.
The last renovation works were carried out here in the years 1958-1961. To this day, the castle fulfills sacral functions.
