In the years 1352-1353 the castle was in the hands of Mersan von Parchwitz, from whom it was purchased by the king of Bohemia and Germany, Charles IV. Mersan von Parchwitz, however, remained in the castle until 1354, appointed by the king burgrave. Then the castle was taken over by Charles IV's brother Johann, Margrave of Moravia, and in 1378 the nephew of King Jodok. In 1400,

the castle passed as a fief to Konrad and Eberhardt von Nymecz. In a mention from 1412, he is mentioned as the owner of Schaff-Gotsch. It was destroyed by the Hussites in 1428 and after reconstruction it was in the hands of robber knights led by Hinko Kruszina. During the expedition against the robbers, the army of the Duke of Ziębice-Opava, William, together with the army of the city of Wrocław, significantly damaged the castle in 1443. However, it was finally destroyed only in 1513. It was not rebuilt, and in the 19th century, local residents used the stone from the ruin to build houses. Only fragments of the stone walls of the ground floor have survived to this day.
