a  brick castle existed on the site of today's Orthodox church. It was erected in the years 1464-1472 by Spytek Jarosławski, it occupied the south-eastern part of the town hill, the entrance was from the west from the town side. The three-wing complex had towers at the corners, and the central part was occupied by a chapel.
After Spytek's death, the castle became the property of his two daughters and son-in-law, later the divided property was bought by Jan Tarnowski, and in 1569 it became the property

of Jan Kostka. Soon after, Jan rebuilt the castle into a Renaissance residence with two high towers, and the surrounding park was enlarged and renovated.
At the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, the estate became the property of the Ostrogski family, but it was again divided into three parts and was demolished by the end of the 17th century. In 1703, a Uniate church was erected on the remains of the castle.
