t is not known who was the initiator of the erection of the castle on the Castle Hill with a height of 583 m above sea level. There are legends linking its contribution to the Order of the Knights Hospitaller, who had their estates in Grodziszcz in the 13th-14th centuries [dok]. It is more likely that it was erected by the dukes of Świdnica and Jawor. At the end of the thirteenth or the beginning of the fourteenth century, the date of construction of the castle is estimated. The castle area was surrounded by a rampart, and perhaps also a perimeter wall. The castle buildings consisted of a round tower with a diameter of 11.5 meters and a skeleton residential building.
It was the property of robber knights when it was destroyed in the fifteenth century.
Even in the nineteenth century,
