he castle was located south-east of the town among meadows on the left bank of the Prosna River. In the fourteenth century, it belonged to the Zaremba family, still in the fourteenth century occupied by Władysław Opolczyk, but soon after, in 1396, taken away by Władysław Jagiełło. In 1416, a town was built next to the castle.
In 1528 it was rebuilt, the inspection from 1564 states that the wooden house was erected on old stone walls, and in several other places there is mention of old stone walls. The castle was surrounded by water and had drawbridges. Another inspection states that the castle was erected on a square plan. Until the mid-seventeenth century, the castle housed the starosty of Grabów in the possession of the Zaremba family.
