Castle in Gorzkowice

here are no historical mentions of the castle in Gorzkowice. This should be related to the fact that the building was probably not completed and was never used. Research allows us to consider the Gorzkowice castle as a palazzo in fortezza complex. It is located on a lofty earth embankment at the south-eastern end of the town, where a natural hump was cut off by a ditch, creating a rectangular mound. In the northern part of the embankment, the construction of a rectangular stone building with dimensions

of 13x27 meters began. The corners of the mound are elongated, which could indicate the planned construction of bastions next to them. The lack of any source references makes it impossible to determine the date of the foundation's creation. There are attempts to link the construction of the castle with the Koniecpolski family, who ruled in Gorzkowice in the first half of the 17th century.
