Castle in Gniezno

n Lake Jelonek, the remains of the foundations of the archbishop's castle have been preserved. It was erected by Jarosław Skotnicki in the mid-fourteenth century on a regular plan in the place where the princely stronghold was previously located. It was destroyed several times until the 19th century, rebuilt, then abandoned it fell into ruin and was demolished.
