o n the shore of Lake Grylewskie there is a mound called a hillfort, but there is no doubt that there was a brick complex in this place. Information about the castle comes from the research of Julius Kohte carried out at the end of the 19th century and the recent search of Czesław Sikorski investigating the castle in Venice.
Julius Kohte came across the remains of a brick rectangular tower measuring 9x15 meters, he concluded that the tower was erected in the Gothic style. Czesław Sikorski estimates that it was built before the mid-15th century. The complex, referred to in the sources as fortalicium, was a typical defensive private residence, which was most likely erected by the Danaborski family. Sikorski compares it to the Pałuków Castle in Gołańcza.
