t  the beginning of the seventeenth century, a castle was mentioned in Czempiń, which was then the seat of the Szołdrski family. It was erected after 1601 by Stanisław Szołdrski.
The castle was destroyed in the mid-seventeenth century during the Swedish wars.
According to the Catalogue of Art Monuments in Poland, the Baroque palace currently existing in the city stands on the site of an earlier castle, and was erected at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. |
