rom the royal castle on the Prosna, an octagonal tower and remains of walls have been preserved. It was built by Casimir the Great in the 14th century in the Gothic style on a polygonal plan. In the second half of the 14th century it was a fief of Władysław Opolczyk, Duke of Opole. Władysław Jagiełło annexed it to the Crown at the beginning of the 15th century. After war damage in the 15th century it was rebuilt by J. Radziejowski. Destroyed by the Swedes during the Deluge, abandoned in the 18th century it fell into ruin.
