First of all, thank you, Reader, for your interest in this topic.

Maybe it would be easiest to start from the beginning - thanks, Karol, for talking me into my first bike trip, on which I got a taste of exhaustion from pedaling all day long, on which, bored with the long wait for the return train, I bought 'Świat Roweru' (a completely worthless magazine, but where could I get it from? know...) Thanks to Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society for establishing the 'Castles Trail in Poland' badge, the rules of which were included in the purchased magazine. Thanks also to Bogus for convincing us that it is not childish at all to collect stamps in the PTTK cycling trip book, and for company on the first journeys. Gratitude to Józef Matusik and Jerzy Miszalski, whom I don't know, but who created the 'Map of Castles in Poland', which was the prototype and the first incentive to create this website.
The above mentioned contributed to the creation of this website indirectly.

And directly... well well well...
First of all, this website was not supposed to be a website :) but merely a small database on Amiga helpful in planning bicycle trips. In 1993-1994, I started 'typing' the Map of Castles on Amiga without looking for anyone to help. In 1994, I went to college, where I first encountered the Internet and the beginnings of WWW, http and html. After half a year of playing around in the web, I came up with the idea of transferring a homemade product into the sphere of accessibility for the whole world.
I received my first help around 1996 from Maćko Phillip, who suggested sending photos of himself and his friends Ewa and Darek Caban. The first valuable professional contact turned out to be cooperation with the Ewa and Piotr Jędrzejewski Monuments Documentation Studio from Wrocław, but due to the great distance I was unable to maintain this relationship.
I was also supported by Małgosia Janecka-Kwiatkowska with a few photos. In general, thank you all. who, by sharing their comments and information, contribute to the information contained on these pages that is closer to the truth.
Since January 1998, for four years, a lot of photos have been added, which were shared with me by, among others: Marek Borkowski - author of the page Zamekki województwa wałbrzyskiego, Leszek Kolczyński and Heniek, as well as Marek Wojciechowski, Jerzy Strzelecki, Erwin Przybysz.
So far, I have not found anyone who would like to co-create the page by sharing drawings on it. I got some great drawings from Justyna Tucholska, but it doesn't look like it will be a permanent collaboration...
Since 2002, we have been collaborating on creating a website with JAPCOK, also known as SOWA :) JAPCOK has taken care of castles in several areas - translating them into English, co-creating a glossary and legends.
Since February 2003, Mr. Jacek Strużyński, an architect professionally involved in the protection of monuments, has been providing invaluable help in the castle matter.
